WAIT, WHAT?
Yes. Its true. There IS something that can be loved as much as building great brands, and that is building great brands around great food. Both are equally addictive and massively gratifying, and both involve putting something out there for people to fall madly in love with and wait in long lines for! Thats what happened when we launched Tres Carnes in New York City.
As the co-founder, executive chef, and brand director on a dream team of seasoned operations and restaurant industry veterans, we opened the first "slow-fast-serve" restaurant of its kind, merging the most authentic low, slow Texas smoked meats with bold, fresh Mexican fare: tacos, burritos and bowls packed with 16-hour smoked brisket, pork shoulder and chicken, topped with smashed guac, mexican corn, housemade salsas, hot pink pickled onions, and many other variations of delicious.
In one short year, we opened 5 stores in NYC, we were named Top 5 Tacos in NYC by Time Out Magazine, 5 Best Burritos by CBS, #3 Best Meal in NYC for our brisket burrito by Village Voice, got a slew of great reviews with a NY Times writeup topping the list, and most recently, being named one of the Top 64 Best Burritos in the country by Nate Silver & David Chang in the Five Thirty Eight Burrito Bracket.
And because we believe that art + food go together like beer + hot sauce, we take our walls very seriously. We have worked with some amazing artists to date, like Yok+Sheryo, STP and KRAM to create the unique murals in each Tres Carnes!
Time Lapse Video of Yok+Sheryo painting the very first Tres Carnes wall mural. Enjoy!
